  • It's been too long.

I apologize to any followers that I have for not updating in so long. I guess I've just neglected this blog, similar to other aspects of my life. Ah well, it's better to do things late than never, right?
I've finally learned to accept my body for what it is. No more stupid weight games, trying to diet here and exercise there, it's all stupid and I don't need to loose weight. My body is perfect the way it is. Weight is just a number, it shouldn't define you. Besides, a beautiful skinny person doesn't have to worry about developing a personality, whereas a bigger, less attractive person is forced to compensate with a better personality. In the end, the latter wins.
And the dress that I blogged earlier about, I have actually found at my local dress boutique! There is only one problem, it's even more money than it was on the website... but the show that I'm in will pay me so hopefully by the time the run is over I will have enough money to afford it.
I am currently reading a book called "My Life in France" by Julia Child, and it really is a fantastic book. I recommend it to anyone who loves biographies or food! I swear, every time I read it, I taste the meals she's describing. It makes me really hungry...
Well, I have a lot of homework to do, so I guess I shall update later. Hopefully I will go back to updating this every day, but I might not. I certainly will update at least every three days, guaranteed. Hope everyone has a lovely evening :)

  • Adventure??

Sorry for the lack of updates, I've just been bogged down by exams... I have been studying like crazy :( It's really no fun at all.
But I do have a lighter note, this past Friday I went out with my friends and we had a great time! I guess I shall add some pictures...
Basically what I had intended to do was first go to Starbucks with a separate group of friends first (because within that group there is a guy I REALLY like) but all of them bailed on me and it was only the guy I liked left, and we both thought it would be lame if it was just us two so we canceled. Instead, I hung out with the other group earlier and we headed downtown to watch a band

    .

    The munchables before we left

Really scary picture of me hahha

I'm sorry, but this guy fucking SUCKED.

Trying to take a picture of us and it didn't work haha :P

The band we all came to see, DTS

Near the end of the song. I wasn't able to get a picture that wasn't blurry, they kept moving so darn fast! And at the end the drummer came up to the front of the stage and poured water all over us screaming "YOU'RE ALL WET" and I honestly wanted to give him a swift kick in the balls because he almost ruined my 500$ camera!!!! (And don't bash the shitty quality of the pics it's just I don't know how to use it properly, not that it's bad)

Also, I'd like to mention that I have a YOUTUBE CHANNEL!
So check it out : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R3pVJPrADAs
That's about it. Until next time :)

  • Updates

So, my posts have been a little stagnant for the time being, and I figured it was about time that I write another update of my life.

As many of you probably don't know, I have a passion (well, probably two passions). Singing. I've sang since I was four years old and have been taking private lessons since I was seven. No, I do not want to become the next American Idol (I live in Canada anyways so that would be near impossible). The reason why I say it is two passions is because I'm in love with two styles, Opera and Musical Theater. On two completely different ends of the spectrum, both make me feel so much joy when I perform. Anyways, what the heck does this have to do with what I've been doing lately?

I auditioned for a show recently called "Little Shop of Horrors." Summed up, it's pretty much about a carnivorous plant from outer space that kills a bunch of people. Although it sounds morbid, it's actually got some hilarious undertones in it (however everyone dies in the end). Now, throughout my years, I have never really gotten any parts (in fact I only started to fall in love with contemporary song and musical theater about a year ago). My first role in a real show was in "Pirates of Penzance" where I was a chorus member. Of course I was thrilled about the whole ordeal, but people always tend to make you feel lower when they respond to your happiness with "Oh, only chorus? That's it? Oh well, maybe the next show you'll do better!" Ugh, ignorant bitches -.- Anywho, I also got a small role in the production "Grease" (Mrs. Lynch) and an understudy in "The Wedding Singer" (Linda). But never have I gotten a lead role. After all of these years of training and dedication to the instrument within me, I was starting to question whether it was worth all the effort. But this audition changed it all around.

When I was called back, they asked me to sing for Audrey. If you aren't aware of the plot, Audrey is the lead female (although there aren't really any other female charachters than Audrey asside from the Do-Wop girls). I was used to this process, I had always been tried for leads in the past but never actually became that role. I just figured this was the same as usual. Later that night, I asked the director over Facebook chat if she'd posted the cast list yet.

Director: Yes, the list is posted, but would you like to know now?
Me: Sure, I have to go to bed soon anyways so I guess that's just easier to know now.
Director: You are Audrey, and Henry* is your Seymore.
Me: OH MY GOD I'M LIKE GONNA CRY THANK YOU THANK YOU

Okay... maybe not the best impression on the director :P But I have never had a lead role EVER and I still check the cast list every few hours just to make sure it isn't a mistake. It's so surreal to me. It reminds me of that song from "Legally Blonde The Musical" called "So Much Better"

"Is that my name up on that list,
Does someone know that I exist?
    Is this a mistake,
    Am I even awake,
Pinch me now to make sure...
OW yes! That is my name in black and white
    Maybe I'm doing something right.
Wow! I feel so much better
    Than before."
